A lot of students, both older and present affirm that their school is the top in Ghana. However, one contest that rewrites the rules can be found in the National Science and Maths Quiz organized through Primetime Media and Ghana Education Service.

1. Presbyterian Boys Senior High School

Presbyterian Boys Senior High School is also called PRESEC is among the most sought-after schools in Ghana.Honored with numerous trophies and won six NSMQ Championships, PRESEC is considered to be the top science school in Ghana and is the only school that has been able to successfully defend their title at the 2008 and the 2009 NSMQ Competition.

They were the winners in the years 1995, 2003, 2006 (2008), 2009, and they currently hold the trophy as the winners of the recent National Maths and Science Quiz.With the score of 36 points at the end of the competition, PRESEC is the only school in Ghana that has title of the best Science School in GHANA.

 

2. Adisadel College

Adisadel College, also known as Adisco is an A-class school situated within the Cape Coast in the Central Region of Ghana.With their uniforms of white and black students of Adisadel are sometimes known as Zebra Boys.

Adisadel is the second-oldest Senior High School in Ghana following Mfantsipim Senior High School.With an average at 31 in the final, Adisadel College almost came close to winning the championship.The however, they came in 2nd and thus landed the 2nd place in the rankings for the most prestigious Science school within Ghana.

 

3. Opoku Ware School

Opoku Ware School also known as OWASS is an A-class school located in Santasi-Kumasi within the Ashanti region of Ghana.Recognised as one of the top school located in Ghana, Opoku Ware has been awarded its place in the National Science and Maths Quiz twice in the year 1997 and 2002.

The Katakyie Boys have always produced notable individuals throughout Ghana and have proved to be among the best school in Ghana.Opoku Ware scored 21 points during the finals and placed 3rd in the rankings of the top scientific school of Ghana.

 

4. Accra Academy

Academy is a school of Category A located in Kaneshi within the Greater Accra region of Ghana.Known as the “Bleoo Boys”, Accra Academy is not a part of an event like the National Science and Maths Quiz and was hoping to get to their first final ever this year.They however failed to earn enough points. Maybe it’s because of the “Fartoo” no one knows.They nevertheless showed potential.

With 38 marks in the Semi-finals of National Science and Maths quiz Accra Academy takes the 4th spot as the top scientific school of Ghana.

 

5. Kumasi Academy

Kumasi Academy is another Category B school which has earned a spot in our ranking. Also known under the name KumAca, Kumasi Academy is situated in Asokore Mampong in the Ashanti region of Ghana.Kumasi Academy isn’t considered as one of the top schools in Ghana however, they consistently win in the competitions they are an integral part of each year.

With 38 points , Kumasi Academy made it to the semi-finals in the Natid5onal Science and Maths test, Kumasi Academy takes the 5th spot as the top Science school within Ghana.

 

6. Boa Amponsem Senior High School

Boo Amponsem Senior High School is another school in the category B that is proving that they are worthy of acknowledgement from Ghana Education Services every single year. throughout the year.Boa Amponsem Secondary High School situated in Dunkwa-on Offin, which is part of the Upper Denkyira East Municipality which is situated inside the Eastern region of Ghana.

In the semifinals, Boa Amponsem scored 22 points Boa Amponsem is ranked 6th place for the top science college in Ghana.

 

7. Achimota Senior High School

Achimota Senior High School is the category A school that is located in Achimota within Achimota in the Greater Accra region of Ghana.Popularly called Motown, Achimota Senior High School has been a winner of twice in the National Science and Maths quiz twice but could not earn enough points to be eligible for the finals this year.

In the semifinals, Achimota scored 21 points Achimota ranks 7th for the top science school in Ghana.

 

8. Aburi Presbyterian Senior High Technical School

Aburi Presbyterian Senior High technical school is another school that is evaluated through Ghana Education Services. It is classified as a school in Category C, Aburi Presbyterian Senior High technical school is situated at Aburi within the east region of Ghana.

At 37, the quarter-finals , and competing against schools such as Osino Presbyterian Senior High School and Northern School of Business, many would argue that Aburi Presbyterian Senior High Technical School was one of the schools that is easy to be competitive with.However the questions set through the National Science and Maths Quiz is universally applicable and to every school that is able to make it to the quarter-finals. This means that Aburi Presbyterian Senior High Technical School, like every other school that was able to make semi-finals should be listed on this list.

The semi-finals saw 18 of them Aburi Presbyterian Senior High Technical school is ranked 8th for the best science institution in Ghana.

 

9. Keta Senior High School

Keta Senior High School is another school that is a success in its competitions, yet it is classified as an A-grade schools within Ghana through Ghana Education Services. Ghana Education Services. KETASCO is referred to as KETASCO by many is situated within Keta within the Volta region of Ghana. Keta scored 36 goals in its quarterfinals to beat schools such as Navrongo Senior High School and the 2001 champions Pope Johns School to qualify for the semi-finals.

10. St Augustine’s College

St Augustine’s College or AUGUSCO is a school of Category A situated within Cape Coast in the Central region of Ghana. It was it was the initial Catholic secondary school constructed within Ghana St Augustine’s College has been a winner of its place in the National Science and maths quiz at least twice since it was first introduced. The school was unable to score 50 points in the quarter-finals, which put them in 10th place on the chart.
