What to know about the GTBank Fashion Weekend. Indeed, today, almost everyone will agree that Guaranty Trust Bank is one of the best banks in Nigeria. However, we must always consider the fact that the bank did not simply find itself on the top spot without doing anything, instead, it keeps indulging in certain strategic activities that have made it a very valuable financial institution.
Gtbank engages in several innovative things that keep fetching revenue – which is one of the reasons the bank is at the top when it comes to financial institutions getting huge revenue annually. Indeed, Guaranty Trust Bank has redefined the Nigerian Banking system.
One of the innovative things they have introduced is the GTBank Fashion Weekend {GTBank FSHN WKND}, which is made to promote enterprise, and tagged “a celebration of fashion and entrepreneurship”.
GTBank Fashion Weekend FSHN WKND
It is simply a consumer-focused fair as well as a free business platform that has been crafted to display the best of the continent’s fashion to the world. The idea is to utilize the concept to promote the enterprise aspect of Africa’s growing fashion industry.
GTBank Fashion Weekend came into being back then in the year 2016, and it has grown to become a well-known platform that showcases the continent’s beauty as far as fashion is concerned. It has been designed intelligently to promote enterprises and small businesses that have been participating in the fashion sector.
The GTBank Fashion Weekend is meant to bring together the most promising and recognized players in Nigeria’s fashion, as well as their counterparts from outside the country. It has been created to ensure talented brands have a platform and an appropriate audience where they can display their products. With this initiative, consumers and fashion lovers can easily see and get what they can feast on (the press, of course, is not exempted).
There are various things attached to the event.
There are masterclasses, popup shops, runway shows, as well as other things. All these are meant to link small firms in the industry to a broader audience of patronizers.
It is also meant to bring about a connection that should enhance networking amongst those playing in the industry – both in the country and outside the country. Growing talents, as well as consumers, gets to learn better
Indeed, Guaranty Trust Bank has been a big activist in stuff that concerns fashion in the country via their SME market hub as well as big money they are known to have spent to sponsor some well-known fashion shows such as the Arise Fashion Show and Lagos Fashion and Design Week.
Casting your mind back to history, you might need to remember (or know that) this financial institution has been sponsoring Lagos Fashion and Design Week till 2014. If you are familiar with the activities, you should remember that at that time, it was referred to as GTB-LFDW. However, due to some reasons which appeared to be hidden from the public, Heineken took over to become the major sponsor of the famous fashion affair, and it was called Heineken-LFDW. The point is, Guaranty Trust Bank has always been interested in fashion stuff as a brand. Perhaps, the issue with the Lagos Fashion and Design Week made them to put everything together to make their own Gtbank Fashion Weekend two years later (don’t forget that it was founded in 2016).
