UNILORIN Cut Off Mark For JAMB is 180
Read on to know your course cut-off mark for the 2020/23 session.
If you score the cut-off mark in your UTME, you still need to know that the UTME score only constitutes 60% of the point system method adopted by JAMB to process the admission, as both the UTME and O level results are used to calculate the overall points. How does it work?
How To Calculate Unilorin Cut Off Point System
- UTME grade point =60 marks(180-185=20 marks,186-190=21 marks,191-195=22 marks,196-200=23marks….a 5 class range gives 1 mark increase)
- Number of WASSCE sittings: Total Marks obtainable is 10 marks
- One WASSCE sitting=10 marks
- Two WASSCE sitting=3 marks
- O level result grading from 5 core subjects: Total marks obtainable is 30 marks.
- A=6 marks
- B=4 marks
- C=3marks
Based on these, Those who have more A’s than B’s or C’s have higher marks and more chances to become a student. So start calculating where you stand if you have your results already.
You are to also know that UNILORIN strictly follows the JAMB policy of Merits, Catchment Areas, and ELDS. The Merit list is only 45% of the total prospective candidates for a course, catchment areas constitute the other 35% and Educationally less developed states constitute the remaining. So a candidate with lower points who happens to be from the catchment states that include Benue, Kebbi, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Plateau, Sokoto, and Zamfara stands a better chance and coupled that most of these states are from the ELDS.
If your states appear here, you are not a member of the LDS family: Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, Ekiti, Anambra, Imo, Abia, Akwa-Ibom, Enugu, Edo, Imo and Delta and unfortunately you are not within the Catchment areas, therefore note that you are among the 45% only, then it boils down to your point system only.
