KNUST VClass – All You Need To Know
Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology has made it possible for students from afar to attend their University, they call it Institute of Distance Learning. This program started in the year 2015/2016, the program was established to deliver programmes of study in the distance learning mode.
At the beginning of the program, they were offering 17 undergraduates programmes and 30 postgraduate programmes. This IDL policy was set up by the Ghanaian government to increase access to tertiary education. KNUST took the challenge of making this available to students who are in distant places and they have strategically increase access to quality higher education and training through the establishment of the IDL with the use of multimedia.
Several structures have been put in place to make sure this program can be carried out successfully. The staff and management board are to be thanked for this innovation set up by the University. The IDL offers the top-up program which is also known as the Undergraduate program., the postgraduate programs, and the Diploma & Certificate program.
Going through with all these is the E-Learning centre which has also been provided by the University. With this E-learning, it enables students to learn online, they do not have to meet face to face with anyone, as almost all materials are available for their use. KNUST 2020 Admission Procedures
The Kwame Nkrumah University offers students the ability to seek admission into the IDL program. There are various programs like the Undergraduate program, the Post-graduate program, and even the Diploma program. Candidates are to have a WASSCE/SSCE result with credits (A1-C6/A-D) in three core subjects which are English language, Mathematics, and Sciences plus credits in three elective subjects with an aggregate score of 24 or more in your related field of study.
Applicants are required to purchase the KNUST IDL online application voucher from any of the following banks in Ghana; GCB Bank, Access bank, Fidelity bank, Universal Merchant bank, HFC bank, Uni bank, Ecobank; they are to submit two copies of the online application printed and posted to the Director, Institute of Distance Learning together with all supporting documents and certificates which are needed.
You are to include your birth certificate, those who have waiting results are also to be considered, they should include their application form and photocopies of other certificates and two referee’s reports. There are no solicitors needed after submitting your application, failure to input the grades and other relevant information online or on the forms shall be denied admission into the University.
Applicants are to complete their application online on the KNUST website, all E-Voucher must be used at the time of purchase of the form, failure to follow this, your application will be invalid. Those who are going for the diploma program or the nursing program are to go to the bank to purchase the bankers draft which is payable to KNUST institute of distance learning, the draft should be submitted to any of the IDL centers for their vouchers and then they can proceed to register.
In the case of foreign applicants, they can generate E-Voucher from the university official website. After completing their online application, they are to print out two copies and submit them through the use of post by either EMS, DHL, UPS, FEDEX to the Deputy Registrar of Academic Affairs KNUST, Kumasi, Ghana. Foreign applicants should know that all their certificates are needed and relevant information which is needed must be provided. Failure to submit relevant information might not guarantee you admission.
