Before you apply for a particular course, there are some requirements you need to reach for you to be able to apply for the course. Nursing is one that gets you a course after graduation. We have lots of nursing schools and programs in Nigeria, and all of them have a requirement for each which is added to them, respective of the one you are going for, you need to know what is needed before you can apply for that particular program. The minimum age to apply for some programs is 17 years, especially the Registered Nursing program. Below are some programs and also their requirements. Students who want to study any of the programs listed below, should read them very well and ensure they have the required documents.

NURSING SCHOOL IN NIGERIA REQUIREMENTS

  • POST-BASIC MIDWIFERY PROGRAMME

Admission requires that the candidate must be a Registered nurse and must also meet all necessary requirement. The duration of training is one year six months. You can study this in different institutions, as we have over 60 in the country.

  • GENERAL NURSING PROGRAMME

Candidates for admission must have a senior secondary school certificate or equivalent with five credits including English language, health science, biology, physics, and chemistry. The training duration is 3 years, diploma certificate for a Registered nurse. You must be 17 years and above before you apply.

  • POST-BASIC PSYCHIATRIC NURSING PROGRAMME

Candidates applying must be registered nurse and must meet all necessary requirements. We have 8 schools of learning post-basic psychiatric nursing, duration of training is one and a half year.

  • BACHELOR OF NURSING SCIENCE DEGREE PROGRAMME (B.SC)

Five credits in WAEC/SSCE, not more than 2 sittings. Subjects must include English language, chemistry, biology, physics, and mathematics, training is for five years.

  • HIGHER DEGREE IN NURSING

Obtainable in different universities offering a higher degree. Qualification Master of Philosophy, Doctor of Philosophy.
